I’m not sure whether to sob or scream. I may do both. Possibly while Biotic-Charge/Nova-ing the shit out of things in ME3.

Though from the point of view of an old fart someone who has lived to see the dawn of the personal gaming console era (so to speak), it’s really interesting to watch. Every time there’s a rise in awareness that female human beings enjoy video games of all stripes (even the ones that involve running around war zones shooting things, stabbing things or nuking things with fireballs), there’s an exponential rise in this sort of exclusionary bullshit. Someone out there is feeling reeeeeeeally threatened, I sometimes think, because hey, if they don’t stop trying to drive us out, they might actually have to … y’know, make some kind of effort at least not to be ragingly offensive to women in their games. Which would involve effort, and maybe *gasp* hiring more women writers. Which in turn would mean accepting that women can write things that involve more than romance, which a lot of people (particularly in the sci-fi genre, but that’s a whole other thing) are disinclined to do.

Poorly done, ad-men. POORLY DONE.
